Bangkok – The Second Coming

After Pattaya, we decided to head north, back to Bangkok for our second visit; Paula’s brother and his family were flying back to New Zealand in a few days, her parents were due to fly to Vietnam on the 3rd of January and we had a bus booked to take us into Cambodia.

Pattaya – A Family Christmas

When family and friends found out we were visiting Pattaya we were warned about the sleazy nature of the city as it is considered one of the main sex tourism areas in Thailand. Since we did not intend to be out hitting the go-go bars and the infamous ‘walking street’ area we didn’t think it would be too much of a concern.

Thailand’s ‘Monkey City’ – A Few Days In Lopburi

Our stay in Lopburi was a very last minute plan as our Airbnb just out of Ayutthaya was cancelled (due to damage caused by recent flooding) four days before we were due to head there. So after some last minute accommodation searches we found a good little spot just out of the centre of Lopburi…. and we were pleasantly surprised during our stay in “monkey city.”

Khon Kaen – Thailand’s City of the Future??

Once our month-long visa for Laos was up, we had three weeks to fill before meeting family on Thailand’s eastern coast. We took a look at the map and did a few searches around the main trunk line that runs from the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge border crossing down towards Bangkok.
