America, Nevada, Las Vegas – Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino

Again, using our Wyndham/Caesars Rewards tier matching we were able to book some complimentary mid-week nights in Las Vegas. We do really like a mid-strip location when in Vegas so we originally booked at PH (Planet Hollywood), but after further research we found their pool wasn’t overly family friendly and as we were visiting in late April we were planning to spend a decent amount of time in the water. In the end we switched and stayed at the more family orientated, and off-strip, Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino.

When we were in Las Vegas in November 2018 we stayed at The Linq Las Vegas Strip Hotel and Casino (read that review here), another Caesars property.Deluxe Masquerade Tower, Two Queens, Non-Smoking Room_Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino_Las Vegas_Nevada_AmericaAt Rio we booked a ‘deluxe masquerade tower, two queens, non-smoking’ which is one of their entry level room types and it gave us  –

  • Two queen beds
  • Mini fridge
  • Flat-screen TV
  • Bathroom with shower, vanity and toilet
  • Wi-Fi (which is restricted to just two devices connected each day) We don’t understand this but it is common across many Caesars properties we have stayed at.

Rio did have a fantastic swimming area, Voodoo Beach, with many different pools and hot tubs/jacuzzis, some for all ages and some for just 21+.Voodoo Beach_Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino_Las Vegas_Nevada_AmericaBecause Rio is off-strip it has complimentary parking, which doesn’t happen at hotels on the strip, except for at Treasure Island (TI).

Distance to:

  • The Strip – 1.8 kms
  • Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign – 5.5 kms
  • McCarran International Airport – 7 kms

We walked to The Strip, nothing is really too far away and there is so much to look at to keep your occupied. Uber is easy to use and many of the hotels/casinos have designated ‘Uber Pick Up’ locations as the resorts can have many different entrances/exits on different streets.

Price = $0 NZD per night (Had we booked directly for this room the cost would have been $167.26 USD/$238.95 NZD per night (including all resort fees and taxes)
