Canada, Ontario, Windsor – Caesars Windsor Hotel & Casino

After reaching platinum status with our Wyndham Rewards Logan tier matched with Caesars Rewards and found we could start earning a few “comped” (complimentary) nights. This was our second location using this reward.Caesars_Windsor_Ontario_CanadaWe booked a double room for a three night, mid-week stay. It was a very nice room with a bit more space than our usual Wyndham rooms. Nice comfortable beds and linen and a bathroom with separate spaces for the bath, shower, toilet and vanity.Caesars_Windsor_Ontario_Canada_1Caesars_Windsor_Ontario_Canada_3

View from our room over the river to Detroit, USA.

One thing we found a bit of a pain with this casino in Canada is that the boys couldn’t even step foot inside the casino floor. In America they can walk through the casino with us, but no “loitering”, so we can access the other areas of the hotel and the restaurants. So here this meant we couldn’t go to any of the restaurants as they only had access from within the casino. Strange rule but in hindsight it was fine as it meant we walked to dinner and experienced some cheaper restaurants outside of the hotel.

Although, one good thing about Canadian hotel casinos – no resort fees!!

Distance to:

  • Windsor-Detroit Tunnel – 1km
  • Ambassador Bridge/American Border – 4.5 kms

We walked mostly as nothing is really too far away and we were just here for a few quiet days.

Price = $ Zero NZD per night (Had we booked directly for these nights the cost would have been $215.53 CAD/$243.40 NZD per night (including all taxes and fees) and while we certainly wouldn’t have paid this to stay here, the complimentary nights were a great bonus from all our cheap end Wyndham stays)
