More trouble finding reasonable accommodation in Osaka so we were a little out of the centre but it turned out pretty well. We booked a studio apartment at HR Front Regal Shinmori via hotels.com.
Easy, self check-in instructions were emailed to us and then inside the apartment there was a folder with lots of good local information. The apartment building was very secure and we had a nice little balcony to sit out on.
We had two double beds with were reasonably comfortable and there was nice linen and towels available. There was also a small table and some stools.
The apartment had a small, but well stocked, kitchen so we could cook if we wanted to. Good sized refrigerator/freezer, microwave, kettle and two elements.
The bathroom consisted of small shower head over a shub (small bath) and then a vanity in a connecting space with the washing machine. There was a small washing line on the balcony to dry clothes. There was a seperate toilet and some large storage cupboards.
We were right across the street from the Morishoji Railway Station but this local line isn’t included on the JR (Japan Rail) Pass so we had to pay to travel a few stations to the Kyobashi Station to connect to the Osaka Loop Line and the larger Osaka stations. Very easy and regular trains in both directions.
- Morishoji Railway Station – 100m
- Supermarket – 150m
We used the trains to easily get around the city. If you have a JR (Japan Rail) Pass then the Osaka Loop trains are also included.
