We booked four nights in an ‘Economy Quadruple Room’ at DockYard Inn via booking.com. We arrived early after an overnight train and were surprised our room was ready, which was great but later in our stay found out the room hadn’t been fully cleaned. We would rather wait a few hours than go into a partly cleaned room – wish we had been advised when we arrived.
The room was VERY simple and had two double beds, bedside table, large wardrobe space, ceiling fan and air conditioning unit. A small bathroom (that needed a really good clean) had an open shower with water temperature that was hard to control, toilet and sink. Breakfast was very substantial each morning, we even asked that we be served less so there was no waste. On arrival, our host Amaan, gave us a great overview of the area, along with pricing and some local knowledge. He also kindly offered us the use of his van so we could easily travel a little further, very appreciated. Free use of the washing machine is a great facility.
The common area upstairs also needed a very good clean. We ate dinner once at the property and the food was ok but some dishes weren’t served hot and one dish at a time. This could have been as Amaan was the only one there as some other staff were away at a funeral that particular day but this needs to be managed better.
A beautiful beach is a short walk away with many spotted deer roaming freely.
