When looking for somewhere a little bit special to spend some time over our wedding anniversary, Logan came across this amazing house in the middle of northeast Thailand.
The minimum stay is one week so it suited us and while it was far too big for our family of four it was still under our accommodation budget and was a stunning setting by a lake with a lovely pool and huge grounds for the boys to explore and play around. It does seem a little odd to have this sprawling property in the middle of a rural village in Thailand with pretty simple houses and structures surrounding it but driving through the villages you do come across the odd one similar to this.Once booked we received a very comprehensive guide from the host, Vidar (who resides in Norway), and this gave us plenty of useful information about the area and surrounds.
This large house has five bedrooms available for guests, four bathrooms, two lounges, a large dinning area, well stocked kitchen and plenty of balconies and outdoors spaces. All the bedrooms have large comfortable beds, nice furnishings and air conditioning units. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, microwave and gas hobs so we did a bit more home cooking than usual.
We spent most of our time relaxing around the pool, enjoying the sunsets over the lake and playing games, there were even few ride on toys available and inflatable tubes for plenty of fun in the pool. The pool is well maintained and was cleaned every second day during our stay.Distant to:
- Village market – 1km
- Big C Supermarket – 25km
- Chaiyaphum township – 30km
The Thai host has a motorbike available for hire as well as a taxi service but we had a rental car which allowed us plenty of access to the area and amenities and even a few geocaches.
Price – $47.80 NZD per night (included Airbnb service fee)
