Vietnam, Phú Quốc Island – Phú Hồng Hotel

After needing a spot on Phú Quốc island for four nights and we found hotel Phú Hồng Hotel via booking.com. We tried to book direct via their website so as to include breakfast in our nightly rate but we never received a reply after a few attempts so finally booked via booking.com. There was an option to add breakfast at $4 US/$5.50 NZD per person but we opted not to. Not sure what would have happened if we had included it as once we arrived we discovered the rooftop dining area didn’t do breakfasts anymore, only drinks were available.

The location was directly opposite the Duong Dong harbour and our second floor room looked directly out towards it which was very nice. The area is very lively and we enjoyed visiting the local day and night markets all within a short walk from the hotel.Phú Hồng Hotel_Phú Quốc Island_Vietnam_1Our room, a ‘deluxe quadruple room’, was compact with two large beds, small table and two chairs, small desk with another chair, half wardrobe with mini fridge, TV, air conditioning unit and separate bathroom. The beds were firm but comfortable with nice linen, towels and furnishings. The room had a kettle and cups but no coffee or tea to make drinks, we received bottled water each day when the room was made up. The room and bathroom were clean and well maintained and we had a pleasant few nights in this simple hotel.Phú Hồng Hotel_Phú Quốc Island_Vietnam_1
